How to jailbreak ipad1 using windows

These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPad 1 on the iOS 5.0 firmware using RedSn0w for Windows. The Mac version of this tutorial is here. This jailbreak is tethered which means you will need to connect your device to the computer each time you reboot. Finally, it may be prudent to save your SHSH Blobs by following this tutorial before continuing. If you want to jailbreak a lower firmware version you can find the appropriate tutorial here. Step One Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage Download RedSn0w 0.9.9b6 from here and place it in the Pwnage folder. Likewise, download the 5.0 firmware from here and place it in the Pwnage folder. (Note: you do not need to download the 5.0 firmware if you are already on iOS 5.0) Extract the RedSn0w zip file by double clicking it. Step Two: (Skip this step if you're on iOS 5 already) Connect your iPad to the computer and launch iTunes. Select your iPad from the list of devices on the left. Now hold down Shift and click the Restore button. Restore is preferred as it won't create any wasted space on your iPad. Navigate to the Pwnage folder on your desktop and select the 5.0 firmware ipsw. Click the Choose button to continue. iTunes will now update your iPad to the new firmware. Step Three Launch the redsn0w application from the redsn0w folder we extracted earlier. **Windows 7 users may want to try running the redsn0w executable mode as an administrator in Windows Vista compatibility. You can do this by right clicking the executable and selecting Properties from the contextual menu. Step Four Once RedSn0w opens click the Jailbreak button Step Five Plug your iPad into the computer and make sure its OFF then click the Next button Step Six RedSn0w will now guide you through the steps to get into DFU mode. You can find more help with DFU mode here Hold down both the Home button and the Power button for 10 seconds. Release the Power button and continue holding the Home button until RedSn0w detects the device. Step Seven Your iPad will now reboot Step Eight RedSn0w will prepare the jailbreak data. Step Nine Select Cydia from the list of options and click Next. Step Ten Your iPad will now be rebooted again and RedSn0w will begin uploading the new RAM Disk and Kernel. Step Eleven Once this is complete you will be notified that RedSn0w is done. When your iPad finishes rebooting (5 minutes or so) it will be jailbroken with Cydia on the SpringBoard. BOOT TETHERED Once you have jailbroken you will need to rerun redsn0w to boot tethered. Step One From the main RedSn0w menu click the Extras button. How to Jailbreak Your iPhone Using JailbreakMe [4.0.0, 4.0.1]

These are instructions on how to jailbreak any iPhone (including the iPhone 4) on iOS 4 using JailbreakMe by Comex. Before beginning make sure your device is activation on iOS 4.0.0 or 4.0.1.




Step One
Press to launch Safari from your Springboard.




Step Two
Press to select the address bar and input http://jailbreakme.com then press the Done button.



Step Three
To begin the jailbreak simply move the slider to right.



Step Four
You will be displayed a status bar as the download progresses.



Step Five
Once the download is complete the jailbreak process will begin



Step Six
Once you are notified that the jailbreak process is complete press the OK button.


Press the Home button to reveal Cydia on your desktop!


Congratulations you are done! You may now continue by installing UltraSn0w to unlock you device. iPhone 4 users still need to wait a bit for an UltraSn0w update which will arrive shortly.

How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3G/3GS Using PwnageTool (Mac) [4.0]

These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone 3G on iOS 4.0 using PwnageTool for Mac.

● If you have a Jailbroken iPhone 3G at 3.1.2 (but not jailbroken with Spirit) then you should create the ipsw with PwnageTool 4.0 and restore from recovery mode or DFU mode.
● If you have an out of the box iPhone 3G you should restore using a PwnageTool 4.0 ipsw using DFU mode.
● If you have a Jailbroken 3.1.3 iPhone 3G it is very possible that this can fail from recovery mode, if this failure happens you will need to restore using DFU mode.
● As an alternative to PwnageTool, you can use redsn0w on iPhone 3G (on both Windows and Mac)

IMPORTANT! Whenever you need to enter DFU mode, you will need to do so using PwnageTool.

Step One
Make a folder called "Pwnage" on the desktop. In it, you will need a couple of things. PwnageTool 4.0, found here or here

You will also need the 4.0 iPhone firmware.
4.0.0 (3G): iPhone1,2_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw

When downloading the IPSW file, it is best to download it with Firefox since Safari often auto extracts it!



Step Two
Double click to mount PwnageTool then drag the PwnageTool icon into the Pwnage folder.











































iTunes will now restore the firmware on your iPhone. This can also take up to 10 minutes. Once done you will be rebooted into jailbroken iPhone OS 4.0!
